Sweetheart tables
The most common use. A sweetheart table seats the couple alone, facing the room, and it is almost always the most photographed piece of furniture at the reception after the ceremony structure. Because it holds two people rather than eight, a solid wood top at this scale reads as furniture rather than as a rental.
Cake, gift and escort card tables
Every wedding needs three or four of these and nobody plans for them until the week before. They sit at the edges of the room where guests queue, so they are seen up close — which is exactly why a draped folding table undoes the rest of the design.
Welcome and sign-in stations
The first object a guest touches when they arrive. A console-height table like our Aalto Oak Console works better here than a dining-height one, because guests stand to sign.
Terrace and cocktail two-tops
For smaller events and corporate receptions, bistro tables give guests somewhere to sit during cocktail hour without committing the floor plan to full dining. Pair with chairs from $12 or bar stools for a higher setup.

How many do you need?
For a wedding, budget four as a baseline regardless of guest count: sweetheart, cake, gifts and escort cards. Add a welcome table if the entrance needs staging, and a signing table if the ceremony requires one.
