Why we published this

Nearly every article about wedding furniture cost quotes an industry average from a survey of couples, which mixes together linens, lighting, tenting, catering equipment and furniture, and is therefore useless for planning a floor. Nobody publishes the actual per-piece rates and shows what a finished room adds up to.

So we did it with our own numbers. Everything below comes from 136 rental items in our live 2026 catalogue and from three complete furniture packages priced from it. There is no survey, no estimate and no rounding in our favour.

Six findings

1. Dining tables and chairs are 58–61% of the furniture budget at every size

At 80 guests the tables and chairs are 61% of the total. At 120 guests, 61%. At 200 guests, 58%. The proportion barely moves, which means the chair you choose sets the tone of the whole budget, not just one line of it.

2. Furniture cost per guest is essentially flat at about $100

$100.61 per guest at 80, $99.94 at 120, $103.31 at 200. There is almost no economy of scale in event furniture, because seating scales one-for-one with guests. Planners budgeting by headcount can use $100 per guest as a working figure and be close at any size.

3. The lounge is the only line that grows as a share of the budget

15% of the total at 80 guests, 20% at 120, 24% at 200. Larger events need more places to sit that are not the dinner table, so lounge is where the incremental money goes once the dinner floor is solved.

4. The most photographed piece is under 5% of the budget

The ceremony arch or chuppah is 4.7% of the total at 80 guests and 1.8% at 200 — the cheapest line on the list relative to how often it appears in the final photographs.

5. Bars and chairs have the widest price spreads in the category

Bars run from $149.99 to $1,890 across our catalogue — a 12.6× spread. Chairs run $5 to $60, a 12× spread. These are also the two pieces guests physically touch for longest, which is why the same guest count can produce quotes that differ by thousands.

6. Dining tables are the most consistently priced category

$160 to $680 across 19 items, a 4.3× spread — the narrowest of any major category. There is less room to go wrong, and less room to save, on the table itself than on anything sitting around it.

Methodology

Rates were taken directly from the Vogue Rentals catalogue on 8 August 2026 — 136 items across twelve categories, at published 2026 rental rates for a standard two-day rental period. Category ranges are the lowest and highest published rate in each group.

The three packages were built at the median rate in each category, not the cheapest or the most expensive, and contain the same components at each size, scaled to guest count: farm tables seating eight, one chair per guest, a sweetheart table, a lounge vignette, a bar and back bar per hundred guests, cocktail tables at one per fifteen to twenty guests, one ceremony arch, and linens for the dining tables.

This is one company’s catalogue in one state, priced at the design-led end of the market. It is not a survey of the industry, and it does not include delivery, labour, linens beyond the tables, tenting, lighting or florals.
