An arch on a San Diego beach is a wind problem first

The arch is the most photographed object at a wedding and the one most likely to be standing in a headwind. Most rental arches resolve that badly: light enough to carry means light enough to move.

Ours are built in our own shop from solid timber, to be weighted and staked rather than propped. At a La Jolla bluff or a Coronado sand ceremony that is not a detail, it is the whole thing.

The arches and chuppahs we rent

  • Classic White Wooden Arch — $189.99. The plain four-post frame; disappears behind the florals, which is usually the point.
  • Hexagon Arch — $259.99. Geometric frame that holds a shape on its own, so it works with a lighter install.
  • Boho Wedding Arch — $299.99. Softer, more organic timber for loose and textural florals.
  • Timber Chuppah Arch — $379.99. A proper four-post chuppah in natural timber, sized to take a cloth.
  • Romantic Arch — $399. Curved and traditional; the formal choice.
  • Modern Chuppah Arch — $659.99. Our most-requested piece, and the one that most often ends up photographed on its own.

Choosing between the two forms? We covered it in arch versus chuppah.

Arches at San Diego ceremony sites

On sand — Coronado, Del Mar, Mission Beach, Encinitas

Sand takes stakes badly and the wind builds all afternoon, so a beach arch has to be weighted at the base rather than driven in. Solid timber carries that ballast without looking loaded down; a hollow frame needs so much weight it stops looking like part of the design. Most San Diego beach ceremonies also carry a city permit with a defined setup window — tell us the window and we plan the crew around it.

On bluffs and lawns — La Jolla, Torrey Pines, Rancho Santa Fe

Staking is possible and the wind is cleaner but stronger. Florals act like a sail, so the heavier the install the more the frame underneath matters.

Courtyards and indoors — Balboa Park, the Gaslamp, mission architecture

No wind, so the frame is doing purely visual work. This is where the Modern Chuppah and the Hexagon earn their price: they read as designed objects rather than as structures holding flowers.

What an arch costs, and how delivery works

From $189.99 to $659.99, every price published.

There is no minimum order, so an arch can be a single-item booking, and a standard booking covers a 2-day rental period at no extra cost. Delivery is charged separately and calculated once we have the site and your preferred delivery and pickup windows. Our crew delivers, positions, levels and weights the arch and returns for it — this is not a piece we leave at the kerb.

Most ceremonies book the seating with it: chairs from $12, benches from $69, and decor for the aisle.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a wedding arch rental cost in San Diego?

From $189.99 for the classic white wooden arch to $659.99 for the Modern Chuppah Arch, with most between $260 and $400. Delivery is quoted separately.

Do I need a permit for a beach ceremony in San Diego?

Usually yes, with a defined setup and breakdown window. Get the permit before you book the furniture, and send us the window.

Will it stay up in the wind?

Ours are built to be weighted and staked, which is exactly what a coastal ceremony needs. Tell us the site and the floral install and we will tell you how we would secure it.

Do you set it up?

Yes. Our crew delivers, positions, levels and weights it, and comes back for pickup. Your florist installs the flowers, usually once we have set the frame.

What is the difference between an arch and a chuppah?

A chuppah is a four-post canopy with a covering, traditionally used in Jewish ceremonies; an arch is an open frame. Many couples choose a chuppah frame regardless because four posts hold a space better on an open lawn.

Do you deliver across San Diego County?

Yes — the county is part of our standard service area, from Coronado and downtown up through La Jolla, Del Mar and Encinitas to Carlsbad, and inland to Rancho Santa Fe and Ramona.
